Dr Tom Prior graduated with distinction from Imperial College London medical school. He undertook post-graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London and completed subspecialty training in maternal and fetal medicine at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. Dr Prior holds a substantive NHS consultant post at Queen Charlotte's hospital where he cares for women with complex pregnancies, and co-leads services for diabetes in pregnancy and multiple pregnancies. In 2015 Dr Prior was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London, recognising his research on the prediction of foetal compromise in labour. This work and other research was published in peer reviewed journals with international readership. Dr Prior has lectured on fetal compromise in labour to international audiences, and regularly teaches both junior doctors and medical students. Dr Prior has a wealth of experience in maternity care and general obstetrics, and is also subspecialty accredited in maternal and fetal medicine, with expertise in fetal ultrasound and of managing complex pregnancies. While having the experience and knowledge to manage complex pregnancies, Dr Prior is also a passionate advocate of normal birth, and aims to support women to achieve the birth they want in the safest possible way. Dr Prior’s calm, caring manner, and outstanding communication skills, ensure that his patients feel supported and informed throughout their pregnancy journey.
